The 27th annual C.W. HOG "Pig Out" fundraiser is slated for Saturday, Sept. 13 at Lower Ross Park. The event will feature entertainment for all ages, food donated by local farmers, and live music by local acts. Tickets are 14 dollars for adults, six dollars for children ages six through twelve and children under six are free. All proceeds from the event go to C.W. HOG. "This is our largest fundraiser of the year," event organizer and C.W. HOG facilitator Bob Ellis said, "and the money we raise pays for adaptive outdoor equipment and funds outings for those who otherwise could not afford to go". Community participation in the event has been considerable. "Every year we get about 200 volunteers", Ellis said, "and this year we are cooking enough food for 1200 people". Featured this year will be an arts & crafts show, Dutch oven cooking including vegetarian dishes, as well as plenty of BBQ. Alcoholic drinks will be available, and a wine display will be on hand as well. Sixteen to 20 local businesses are expected to participate in the event. Live music from two local bands will begin at 5 p.m. Steelhead Redd will open, and the headliner will be The Unknown. For further information, or to volunteer, contact Bob Ellis at the C.W. HOG office At 282-3912
