Students Prepare for Boise Protest

On Thursday, March 4, an open student forum was held in the Little Wood River room of the Pond Student Union Building. The forum was arranged by ASISU President Ross Knight.
After devouring cookies donated by Chartwell's and sipping drinks, students were encouraged to look at material laid out on the tables.

To Reorganize or Not?

All day on March 10, faculty members will be casting votes that will determine whether or not Idaho State University will go forward with a plan to reorganize the departments.
The plan was presented in its entirety to the faculty senate on Feb. 12 by Provost Gary Olson.

Frank Church Symposium 2010

The 39th annual Frank Church Symposium was held last week at ISU. Once again, the event fulfilled its promise of thought-provoking discussing, learned arguments and providing useful knowledge about world affairs.
This year, the symposium focused on issues regarding the Middle East.

Human Powered Vehicle Policy

ISU Public Safety and the Parking Advisory Board are implementing the new Human Powered Vehicle Policy which is now in effect. The policy is designed to reflect the intent of the University to create an environment of personal safety for students, faculty, staff and guests, and to reduce the potential for property damage.

Rocky Mountain Writers' Festival at ISU

This year's Rocky Mountain Writers' Festival will run March 10 through March 13 in Pocatello, Idaho, with many events hosted at ISU.
The Festival was founded in the 1990s by Will Peterson, writer, art supporter and owner of the Walrus and Carpenter bookstore in Old Town.

Oscar Night Belongs to 'Precious' so Far

Mo'Nique, considered the shoo-in for an Oscar for supporting actress as the vile, abusive mother of a pregnant teen in "Precious: Based on the Novel 'Push' by Sapphire," won the honor as expected. The comic talk-show host, who opted out of doing extensive campaigning this awards season, thanked the academy and said it proves that a win "can be about the performance and not the politics.

'Lip Dub' of Beatles Song on March 12

Idaho State University students will be gathering at 1 p.m. on March 12 in the Canoe Room of the Pond Student Union to produce a "lip dub" of the Beatles song "Revolution."
This event was original scheduled earlier, but the time was changed.
In a nutshell, a lip dub is a lip-synching music video tour of a college campus.
