Housing is a stress factor for any ISU student. With a growing student population, finding adequate living conditions on or off campus can be quite the chore. With this in mind, the creators of the new Bengal Creek Housing invite students to take advantage of their new housing option for the 2005 Fall semester.

ISU's Kappa Alpha Psi holds annual awards dinner and panel discussions

This week a group of the savviest business minds in and around Pocatello will come together to teach, discuss, and to celebrate the recognition of an outstanding local leader. Ed Dahlberg, president and CEO of St. Luke's Regional Medical Center, was recently honored as the Idaho Business Leader of the year by ISU's Kappa Alpha Psi.

New ISU Psychology Club offers students an alternative to joining a national honor society

Fredrickson disappointed in state decision to charge students tuition

Ample discussion took place by the ASISU senators in the Salmon Suite conference room at the Student Union Building Monday night. ASISU president, Terry Fredrickson, started the meeting with a report on his visit to the State Board of Education meeting on March 10-11.

Public Safety

On3/10/05 at approximately 0514 hours at the Life Sciences Building, Public Safety discovered an audible alarm on a dishwasher. The alarm was silenced and turned off. On 03/11/05 at approximately 1018 hours in R09 Lot, Public Safety towed a vehicle with from campus for incurring $230 outstanding fees.

Public Safety's Jennifer Beaty named Student Employee of the Year Jennifer Beaty has been named Idaho State University Student Employee of the Year and will receive a $2,000 scholarship for the 2005-2006 school year. The award is granted by the ISU Career Center.

Iraq bombing kills 3, injures contractors

BAGHDAD, Iraq - A pre-dawn suicide bombing rattled Baghdad Wednesday, killing three Iraqis and injuring dozens of foreign contractors, Iraqi government workers and civilians in an apparent attack on a hotel where the contractors were staying. Later in the day, the Minister of Planning survived an assassination attempt, but two of his bodyguards were killed in the gunfight.

BSU requests Bronco Stadium skybox suites

The Idaho State Board of Education has been busy with various forms of agenda regarding education in Idaho in various institutions. Boise State University has requested skybox suites at the Bronco Stadium. With the claim that the suites would be more marketable, BSU is also requesting the availability of alcohol service.

Congressional committee tough on Mark McGwire, baseball during steroid hearings

WASHINGTON - An American icon teetered on his pedestal Thursday as retired baseball slugger Mark McGwire repeatedly refused to answer questions from Congress about his use of steroids. Major league baseball also took a beating at Thursday's hearing as members of the House Committee on Governmental Reform derided the sport's steroids policy as insufficient and ordered the game to clean up its act.

Gaming college's students place bets on future

A Macedonia couple has taken a gamble by opening a school to train dealers in such games as poker, blackjack, craps and roulette in a state that doesn't allow casino gambling. But Vince Conforte and Cherie Dimmerling said the demand for professionally trained dealers is so high that they already have casinos knocking on their door for graduates, even though the Ohio Gaming College only opened March 4.

Web site lets students contact potential jobs

UNIVERSITY PARK, Pa. - It's that time of the year again, and students have already to begun to search for jobs after graduation. To help their quest, Pennsylvania State Univeristyhas joined the 65 schools who can access Joboozle, a free Web site that allows students to communicate with potential employers.
