The Visual Media Guild is a student organization on campus. The Cinema Guild and the Photography Club combined in the fall of 2002, creating the Visual Media Guild. It offers students interested in visual and performing arts a positive environment to develop their skills. Photography, web design, graphic design, cinematography and other forms of expression are represented in the organization.
The Guild has been advised for the last three years by Brian Wells, An assistant professor in the Department of Mass Communications. The president this year is Maryanne Benner. She is a junior majoring in mass communications.
"What we want to do is add to the culture of Pocatello and the culture of Idaho State University by promoting the arts in the community and on ISU campus," said Wells.
The Guild is made up of students with many different majors. They have students from mass communications, theater and art and it is open to anybody who is interested.
