Idaho State high school champion joins Bengal Cross Country squad

POCATELLO, ID - Idaho State University cross country coach Brian Janssen announced on Monday that Soda Springs, Idaho product Keane Shuler will join the Idaho State cross country team and compete for the Bengals this fall.
Shuler, a native of Soda Springs, was the State 2A Idaho State high school cross country champion in 2004. Shuler's 5-kilometer time of 16:40.73 was 12 seconds faster than the second place finisher at the 2004 championship. Shuler also recently placed third in the mile run with a time of 4:26.55 at the 2005 Simplot Games.
"We are very excited to have Keane join our team," Janssen said. "He had an outstanding high school career and we're happy to have him at ISU. I think his personality and running tools will have an immediate impact on our team."
Shuler was listed on the 2004 boys cross country Foot Locker West "Hot 100" list this past season. He also placed second in the 800-meter run and fifth in the mile at the 2004 state track and field championships. The SHS standout was coached by former Idaho state track standout Jeff Horsley.
Shuler will join the Bengals when the kick off the 2005 season in September.
