Marc Pijoan named Big Sky Tennis Player of the Week

Ogden, UT--Idaho State's Marc Pijoan has been named the Big Sky Conference Men's Tennis Player of the Week after leading the Bengals to a pair of wins last week, the league office announced on Tuesday.
Pijoan, a junior from Barcelona, Spain, helped Idaho State to wins over Utah State and conference rival Northern Arizona. Playing from the No. 1 singles spot, Pijoan defeated Utah State's Johannes Zelle 6-4, 6-1 and then topped Northern Arizona's Henrik Lilja 6-4, 6-2.
Idaho State defeated cross-state rival Utah State 4-3 before opening Big Sky play with a 5-2 victory over Northern Arizona. The honor marks the first Player of the Week Award for Pijoan.
Pijoan and the rest of the Bengals will be back in action on Feb. 3 when the team heads to Las Vegas to take on UNLV. ISU returns back home on Feb. 14 for a match against Weber State.
