Bengal - Where did you grow up?
Henrikson - I lived in Richmond, British Columbia, Canada.
Bengal - How long have you run track and cross country?
Henrikson - I started my sophomore year in high school.
Bengal - Why did you choose to run in college at ISU?
Henrikson - I was offered a scholarship to run. The summer of my twelfth grade year I ran well, and I chose Idaho State because the guys that run the 800 meters are legit.
Bengal - What are you going to school for?
Henrikson - Sports science and physical education.
Bengal - Who is your idol or favorite runner?
Henrikson - My parents have always supported me when I run. They are someone I look up to. I also like El Guerroji the 1500 meter world record holder.
Bengal - Do you have any favorite professional teams?
Henrikson - I like watching the Canadian Olympic hockey team and the Vancouver Canucks hockey team.
Bengal - What is something that you are scared of?
Henrikson - Spiders, snakes and reptiles are creepy. They have no personality and are unpredictable.
Bengal - What was your first job?
Henrikson - I worked as a cook at a rib-steak house for a year. When I was younger I had an afternoon paper route for four years.
Bengal - Do you have things you do before every race?
Henrikson - I eat the same food at about the same amount of time before I run. I also drink coffee, a lot of coffee before the race.
Bengal - What is your favorite thing to watch at the Winter Olympics?
Henrikson - I like the speed skating and the ice hockey. I always root for Canadians to win.
Bengal - What is your favorite thing about the guys you practice with?
Henrikson - We always have lots of fun. Outside of practice, we have fun parties.
Bengal - Name anywhere in the world you would like to go.
Henrikson - Iceland, that's my background, where people in my family came from. Also, they have girls that look like supermodels that work at McDonalds.
Bengal - What's your favorite color?
Henrikson - I like red.
Bengal - Do you have any hobbies?
Henrikson - I do outdoor stuff. I like to go biking and swimming mostly.
Bengal - What is your favorite running memory?
Henrikson - I won the Canadian Junior Championship in high school. I went to Barbados to run in the Pan American games.
Bengal - Are you a morning runner?
Henrikson - I am not a morning person. I don't do morning runs.
Bengal - What do you expect from your season?
Henrikson - I expect to win conference in the 800
meter run. This is my first season back from surgery and I feel good. I've placed second at conference once indoors and twice outdoors. It's about time I took first.
