Ogden, UT- Masimba Ruwo has been named the Big Sky's Men's Tennis Co-Player of the Week after helping Idaho State to a 2-1 in Colorado on February 10 and 11.
Ruwo went 3-0 in singles and 3-0 in doubles, helping the Bengals to a pair of wins. Ruwo defeated South Dakota State's Dusty Antoine 6-2, 6-0, Air Force's Robby Alexander 7-5, 7-5, and Northern Colorado's Paul Tschetter 7-6, 6-1.
The Mutare, Zimbabwe native teamed up with Ryo Sakamoto in double's play to win all three matches last week. Ruwo and Sakamoto shutout the South Dakota State duo of Ben Scholtz and Jonathon Thie 8-0. The pair then defeated Air Force's Robby Alexander and Ryan White 9-8 before taking down Northern Colorado's Kollman Gearhart and Austin Nunn 8-5.
Ruwo now holds a 6-1 overall mark at the No. 4 single's spot this season. He holds a 5-1 record at No. 3 doubles.
