Students interested in finding summer work should make plans to attend the Spring Career Fair. The Career Fair is tomorrow, March 9th, 2006 from 9 am until 3 pm in the Pond Student Union Ballroom. The Spring Career Fair is hosted by the Career Center, and there will be many different opportunities for students who haven't found an internship or job for the summer of 2006, said Associate Director Troy Kase. Regional and local companies will be represented at the fair said Kase.

"Currently we have 72 different employers signed up to attend," Kase said.

While most companies will be offering part time or summer jobs, some will not, he said.

"Not every company there will be advertising jobs. Some companies will be advertising future opportunities or possible opportunities and career information, too," said Kase. This will give students who may need some guidance about what they want to do for a career more information Kase said. "But there will be a lot of folks there offering jobs as well," he said.

The information and opportunities offered at the fair is for everyone, said Kase.

"Say I'm a freshman and I don't have a clue on what I want to do, it's a great place for me to go to do interviews with folks to find out about what's out there. Maybe I'm someone who's made a decision in a career, its a great place for me to go to find out what it's going to take to break into that field," Kase said.

Many categories of employers will be there, he said, including business, engineering, social services, and health care. Some of the employers will be targeting specific audiences, such as Micron, who will be targeting engineering majors, he said. Most will be looking at business majors. Although, some employers have more general requirements and will be looking for people to fill management-training positions that don't require a specific major, Kase said.

Another aspect of the career fair is that it is a way to find a job quickly, or find a summer job.
