Pocatello, ID-The Idaho State women's volleyball team will hold a free clinic for elementary-aged students (K-6 grades) April 12 from 7-8 p.m. at Reed Gym. The function will correspond with the Pocatello Community Charter School's TV Free Week, and is designed to introduce beginners to the game of volleyball.
"The ISU volleyball team coaching staff and student-athletes are looking forward to the opportunity to share our sport with the children from our community," said ISU head volleyball coach Mike Welch. "We have a great group of players who have a positive outlook and demonstrate enthusiasm in their pursuits."
Sign in and registration for the camp will take place from 6:30-7 p.m. on April 12 in the east lobby of Reed Gym. The clinic will take place from 7-8 p.m., followed by an autograph session with the Idaho State volleyball team at 8 p.m.
"We are hosting the clinic to coincide with the Pocatello Community Charter School's TV Free Week, where kids commit to not watching TV for a week," Welch said. "It will be a healthy option for the children in our community to continue developing an active lifestyle. We would like to encourage children from all elementary schools to join us."
The cost to the clinic is FREE, but all participants are required to have a parent or guardian sign the medical release form, which is available on the official Idaho State athletics website (www.isubengals.com).
