Pocatello, ID --- The Idaho State University Spirit Squad is seeking a new person to portray Benny the Bengal, ISU's official mascot for the 2006-2007 school year. Mascot tryouts are scheduled for Wednesday, September 6 at 6:00 pm in the tennis center of Reed Gym.
Applicants for the position, which also brings with it a $1,500 scholarship, are required to be full- time students at ISU. All applicants must bring a one-minute skit set to music that they will perform for their audition. Following the skits, a cut will be made down to two finalists. The two finalists will then have a brief interview and will have to improvise with music and props provided for them. Benny the Bengal 2006-2007 must be prepared to attend all home football, volleyball, halftime of soccer, and men's and women's basketball games, as well as numerous public appearances. The new mascot must also be able to attend the first home ISU Football game on Saturday September 9th.
