Psychocandy, a show on KISU FM 91.1, airs every Saturday at 9 p.m. The show is compiled of post-punk, new wave, and underground sounds from the 80's. The featured groups include Bauhaus, Depeche Mode, The Cure, Love & Rickets, Pixies, The Church Ministry, Skinny Puppy and The Fall. The genera of these groups is industrial, goth, rock, and early college. The songs featured on Psychocandy weren't particularly popular in America during the time of their release and have been largely forgotten.

Psychocandy's host is Levi Keller. An Idaho native, Keller is a sophomore who acquired his taste for this type of music from his older brother, Brett Keller. Levi likes the music because it's the foundation of much of the current alternative music.

Keller enjoys his job for a number of reasons, including the opportunity to play with different production equipment, and simply being on air. He's had some interesting times while working at KISU, including having the program on-air unexpectedly stop, leaving him to fill the silence.

When asked what he would like people to get from listening to his show, Keller said, "I hope my listeners will think the music is good and enjoy the songs played."

Psychocandy borrows its name from the first album from Jesus & Mary Chain, released in 1983.

Love and "Rickets" should read Love and "Rockets."

The music hasn't been largely forgotten altogether - only as far as the "masses" or the majority of the record buying public is concerened. (Continued…)
