The Nepalese Student Association, together with ASISU Program Board, is bringing Nepalese Night to ISU for the first time. Nepalese Night will be celebrated in the ISU student union ballroom Saturday, Feb. 3 at 7 p.m. The program is themed "Chilly Everest Ice with Nepalese Spice." Nepalese night will include a slideshow, traditional and modern dances and songs performed by the Nepalese students at ISU. Entertainment will also include a fashion show, guest performance by students from Saudi Arabia and an exhibition of Nepalese handicrafts and garments. Attendees can enjoy all these while enjoying a variety of food from Nepal.

The number of Nepalese students at ISU has increased from a small group of 5 students in fall 2003 to 45 students this semester. The main purpose of this event is to provide a taste of Nepal to the Idaho community. The organization was started with a goal of helping Nepalese students acclimatize well to cultural and other changes and help the local community better understand Nepal and Nepalese traditions and cultures.

The price of admission is $5 for students, $6 for ISU faculty/staff, and $7 for the general public. Tickets can be purchased at the student union lobby during weekdays and will also be available at the door for $1 more.
