This week we sat down and had a chat with Sophomore Amanda Vink of the ISU track team. Here's what she said.
Bengal: What is your favorite food? Least favorite food?
Vink: Manicotti. Hotdogs.
Bengal: What is your favorite ice cream?
Vink: German chocolate cake from Baskin Robins, or pretty much anything from Coldstone.
Bengal: Do you remember your first crush? If so what was his name and what happened?
Vink: Well in fourth grade I like a kid named Chase Ricker, and absolutely nothing happened, I was in fourth grade.
Bengal: Which events do you compete in? What is your favorite event?
Vink: I do the heptathlon outdoors, and the pentathlon indoors, and also the triple jump.
Bengal: What is your most embarrassing track moment?
Vink: We were practicing high jump, and were jumping off a box, and my spike caught the box, so I pretty much fell.
Bengal: What is your major?
Vink: I am thinking of majoring in Zoology, but I am not sure yet.
Bengal: What do you most love about track?
Vink: Even though running really hard sucks, the feeling you get afterwards is worth it.
Bengal: What is your most memorable experience related to track?
Vink: When I won the long jump at state track my senior year of high school on my last attempt.
Bengal: When you have free time, how do you like to spend it?
Vink: What free time?
Bengal: What is your dream car?
Vink: I have always wanted a Viper, but I also want a Porsche and a Ferrari.
Bengal: If you could play any other sport at the collegiate level, which one would it be?
Vink: Definitely volleyball, I actually almost played it in college.
Bengal: What's the best vacation you've ever gone on?
Vink: I went to New York the summer after 9-11 and got to see ground zero.
Bengal: Have you ever owned a pet?
Vink: Of course, I have a dog right now, but he is at home with my parents, his name is Taz.
Bengal: What are some of your pet peeves?
Vink: When people say rut instead of root, and squoze instead of squeezed.
Bengal: Of the seven dwarfs, which one do you most identify yourself with?
Vink: Dopey.
