Bengal: What is your favorite memory of track?
Layman: It would have to be last spring when I jumped 7 feet at conference at NAU and beat the 4 time champion from Montana to claim gold.
Bengal: If you could spend a day with any professional athlete, who would it be?
Layman: Steve Young. I love the 49ers and he was my favorite athlete to watch.
Bengal: Do you have any phobias?
Layman: No, not really
Bengal: What events do you compete in?
Layman: I compete in the high jump and the long jump, but sometimes I'll do others too.
Bengal: What is the best feeling in track?
Layman: The best feeling in track is when you set a personal record in the event you compete in. You feel like your hard work is paying off. Also, when your team wins the championship, that's a great feeling too.
Bengal: What are you studying in school?
Layman: I'm studying Political Science, and no not for politics.
Bengal: Who is your favorite celebrity?
Layman: I've never really thought of that before, but I would say Will Ferrell or Ben Stiller. They just make me laugh.
Bengal: Do you remember your first crush? Who was it?
Layman: I was in the third grade in California. Her name was Jessica and we almost kissed under the recess toys, but my friends had to interrupt… don't you hate when that happens?
Bengal: Do you have a favorite quote?
Layman: Yes I do and it is super funny to my friends because they like it when I say it while talking about track. Ron Burgundy once said,
"People know me. I'm kind of a big deal".
Bengal: What is your favorite thing to do in your spare time?
Layman: Hanging out with my friends. That means an Xbox 360 and Gears of War, our favorite game.
Bengal: What are some of your goals after you finish at Idaho State University?
Layman: I'm going to law school, most likely the University of Idaho or maybe BYU.
Bengal: What is your favorite day of the week and why?
Layman: Friday. It either means a restful weekend or a trip for a track meet.
Bengal: What kind of music do you listen to? Do you have a favorite band or singer?
Layman: Everything but country (o.k. I can stand it). My favorite band right now would have to be Cartel or Reliant K.
