Provo, UT--Idaho State dropped a 10-2 six-inning decision Saturday afternoon to Brigham Young at Gail Miller Field. The game wraps up 11-straight road games for the Bengals, who now return home to Pocatello to play 10 straight at Capell Park.

"We battled hard this week," said ISU head coach Larry Stocking. "We're playing with a lot of confidence right now. I'm pleased with how hard we played. Our players don't give up."

Idaho State falls to 4-28 overall, while BYU improves to 18-14 on the season.

"We're excited to finally get home and play some games," Socking said. "We've been on the road all season long, playing high level competition. We've expected this kind of season. We're very young, but the experience of this season tells a lot about the character of kids we have on this team. They have a lot of faith and know that this is a learning experience for them. They are showing a lot of faith in our program and they see and know the bright future that lies ahead."

After playing a scoreless first inning, Brigham Young scored five runs in the bottom of the second to take the early 5-0 lead.

ISU battled back with a pair of runs in the top of the fourth inning after Heather Dixon reached first base on an error on BYU's shortstop, which allowed Christine Shollenberger to cross the plate. Christine Keeton then sacrificed Dixon home for ISU's second run.

Shollenberger recorded ISU's lone hit of the day, hitting a single in the top of the sixth inning.

BYU answered with a run in the bottom of the fourth and two each in both the fifth and sixth innings to secure the eight-run rule, ending the game in six innings.
