KISU-FM 91.1 sets spring fundraiser April 11-13

KISU-FM 91.1 will launch an abbreviated spring fund drive this week from today (Wednesday, April 11), through Friday, April 13.
KISU successfully ran its first-ever fall campaign last October, raising around $10,000 from generous donors. But station general manager Jerry Miller says it's an ongoing process.
"With constant pressure to reduce our student-fee funding, yet with so many important projects ahead, we can't be content with just one drive a year," Miller said. "We're really hoping to find new dollars during this short three-day drive."
Miller says this drive is connected to the April 28 Roger Williams concert at the L.E. and Thelma E. Stephens Performing Arts Center.
"After our fall fundraiser I immediately started thinking about other ways to raise more funds, and yet be able to say 'Thanks' to all of our loyal supporters. It hit me suddenly that one of Idaho State University's most famous graduates, Roger Williams, had never performed in our brand new Performing Arts Center yet," Miller said. "I made a phone call and the next thing I knew, we were trying to nail down a date for the concert. Being able to see Roger play in that beautiful facility, for many people, will be the treat of a lifetime!"
Miller also says donors during the Spring Fund Drive have a chance at their own Roger Williams tickets, "Anyone who donates $240 or more during the drive can go to the 'Premiums' section at the bottom of our 'Make A Pledge' link at www.kisu.org, and click on the appropriate box to reserve their own two free tickets to the concert!"
He also adds that you don't have to wait for a pledge drive to become a KISU member and make a donation. "It's really an easy thing to do. Again, just go to our Web page at www.kisu.org and click on the 'Make A Pledge' link and you're on your way."
In a side note, Miller says the station is still working on getting a translator signal into the Idaho Falls market, and he's hoping for good news about that project either late this spring or sometime this summer.
