Last Saturday, the Lady Bengals hosted just their third and fourth home games of the season. Capell Park, temporary home of the Bengals, was undoubtedly a welcomed sight to the Idaho State women's softball team, considering they had played the last 11 games on the road. ISU met Great Falls in a double-header showdown that proved to be all Bengals.

Lindsay Boughton, a native of Woodinville, WA represented Idaho State very well inside the painted circle. The freshman pitcher dominated the Argos, boasting a 5 inning shutout and allowing only one hit. Boughton also recorded nine strikeouts. This performance gave Boughton her fourth win on the season.

Not only were the lady Bengals solid defensively, but they also got the job done offensively. In the first inning, ISU put one run on the board with an RBI by Heather Dixon, which scored teammate Amy Webb. The Bengals would then score 4 more runs in the third inning, 1 in the fourth, and 2 in the fifth which gave ISU the fifth inning, 8 run rule, win over the Argos.

In the second game of the double header, the Lady Bengals went on an early tear that would prove to be far too much for Great Falls to handle. In the first inning, second baseman Christine Schollenberger went yard on a three run shot which sparked the first inning scoring frenzy.

The second inning was also fruitful for the Bengals, as they put two more runs on the board. In the fourth inning, ISU added three more runs to the total giving them a whopping 12-0 advantage going into the fifth. In the top of the fifth and final inning of the game, the Lady Bengals gave up their only run of the day. But one run wouldn't be enough for the Argos of Great Falls as they dropped the second game 12-1 to the Bengals.

Andrea Coburn, freshman pitcher and native of Brigham City, UT, recorded the win in the circle for game two. Coburn pitched the first four innings scoreless and gave up only one run in the fifth inning. Coburn chalked up six strikeouts and gave up only four hits in the contest.

This win moves Idaho State to a 6-28 record overall, and a perfect 4-0 at home. With six more home games to look forward to, the Bengals will welcome Utah Valley State College to Capell Park this Saturday. The double-header will begin at 2:00 pm MT and the second game will follow at 3:30 pm. ISU will then host four straight games against Montana State-Billings on Friday the twentieth and Saturday the twenty-first.
