Atlanta, GA--Idaho State's Natalie Doma and Andrea Lightfoot have been named to the 2007 Women's Basketball Coaches Association (WBCA)/Kodak honorable mention All-America Team. Idaho State is one of just eight teams in the nation to have more than one player earn 2007 WBCA/Kodak All-America honors.
Besides Doma and Lightfoot, the only other basketball player (men's or women's) in Idaho State history to receive All-America honors was Steve Hayes in 1977.
Doma, a junior center, was a five-time Big Sky Player of the Week honoree this past season, and led the league in scoring (22.1 ppg.) and rebounding (12.0 rpg.), both of which rank top-seven nationally. Doma also led the Big Sky this season with 24 double-doubles.
Doma became Idaho State's all-time career scoring leader, passing Mandi Carver's (1998-02) mark of 1,538 points. The Victoria, British Columbia native currently has 1,554 career points with an entire season left to play. Doma also broke numerous ISU single season records this past year, including points (685), points per game (22.1), field goals made (233), and rebounds (365).
The third-year starter led Idaho State to the 2007 Big Sky Conference Tournament championship in Missoula, Mont. Doma was named the tournament's MVP after notching 45 points and 34 rebounds over ISU's two games at the championship. Doma burst onto the national spotlight at the NCAA Tournament, scoring 32 points with seven rebounds against No. 5 Stanford in a first round loss broadcast nationally on ESPN. She was named to ESPN.com's NCAA first round honor roll. She recently received AP All-America honorable mention honors, becoming the first ISU women's basketball player to do so.
Lightfoot, a junior guard, ranked fourth in the Big Sky Conference in scoring this season at 17.2 points per game, second in free throw percentage with an 86.4 percent clip, and first in minutes played at 35.87 per contest. She also ranked fifth in the league with 60 made threes. The Omaha, Nebraska native holds the all-time Idaho State points per game average at 17.8.
