Bengal Dancers and cheerleaders compete at national events

About two weeks ago, the Idaho State University Bengal Dancers boarded a plane bound for sunny Daytona Beach, Florida. This multiple day excursion to the tropical-like conditions of Florida was much more than a white sandy beach field trip. It was a chance to show their moves on an elite stage at the 2007 National Dance Alliance Collegiate Championship.

The Idaho State volleyball team went 2-2 at the University of Utah Spring Tournament on Saturday. The Bengals defeated both Boise State and Westminster before dropping matches to Weber State and Utah Valley State. Katie Edgson recorded a team-high 36 kills on the day while hitting .

Defense Rules the Day at Second Spring Scrimmage

Idaho State's defense picked off a pair of passes, had four sacks, and allowed just 200 yards of total offense as the defense led the day at the second spring scrimmage. While the offense struggled a bit on the day, they did score five touchdowns, three coming on ISU's goal line situational offense.

Volleyball Signs Carson and Proost to National Letters of Intent

Idaho State head volleyball coach Mike Welch announced on Wednesday the signing of high school standouts Sarah Carson and Jenna Proost to national letters of intent to join the Bengals for the 2007-08 academic year. \Carson heads to Idaho State from Loveland, Colorado, where she was a standout at Mountain View High School.

Smith signs national letter of intent for ISU golf

Idaho State head golf coach Dave Molitor announced Wednesday that Kylie Ann Smith had signed a National Letter of Intent to play golf for Idaho State starting the 2006-07 academic year. Smith is from Omaha, Nebraska where she attended Marian High School, the same high school Idaho State's Andrea Lightfoot attended.

Idaho State Track competes in Mark Faldmo Invitational

Idaho State competed in the Mark Faldmo Invitational at Utah State last Saturday April 14. Idaho State had 31 finishes in the top three in twenty three different events. First place finishers for ISU were, for the women, Jessica Hillam who finished in first place in both the shot put and the discuss throw.

Brittany Austin finishes Cowgirl Classic with lowest round of the season

Scottsdale, AZ - Idaho State's Brittany Austin had a stellar third round to move her from a tie at 25th place to finish the tournament in a tie for 16th. Austin shot a third round of 74 strokes to close the Cowgirl Classic. 74 is the lowest round of any Bengal this season.

Sacramento State sweeps women's tennis

Pocatello, ID-- ISU women's tennis was defeated by Sacramento State 7-0 Saturday afternoon. The Bengals' season record falls to 2-7 with a Big Sky record of 0-4. Sacramento State improves its season record to 15-6 with a Big Sky record of 7-0. The Bengals lost three of the three doubles matches to put them behind 1-0 early in the match.

John Danielson receives Big Sky Co-Field Athlete of the Week

John Danielson received Co-Field Athlete of the Week from the Big Sky Conference this week. Danielson is joined by David Paul from Eastern Washington. Danielson broke the school record with a throw of 61' 7.75" at the Boise State vs Idaho State Dual. Danielson's throw not only broke the school record, but was the fifth longest throw in the nation this season.

ISU defeats Southern Utah, falls to Brigham Young at BYU spring tournament

Provo, UT--The Idaho State soccer team dropped a 2-0 decision to Brigham Young before defeating Southern Utah 1-0 at the BYU Spring Tournament. Kilee Quigley scored Idaho State's game-winning goal against SUU. Quigley reached the back of the net after connecting on a header off a free kick service from Annamarie Hofstetter.
