John Danielson received Co-Field Athlete of the Week from the Big Sky Conference this week. Danielson is joined by David Paul from Eastern Washington.
Danielson broke the school record with a throw of 61' 7.75" at the Boise State vs Idaho State Dual. Danielson's throw not only broke the school record, but was the fifth longest throw in the nation this season. Danielson broke the old record, set by ISU's now assistant track coach Zeb Sion in 2006 by a margin of 1'5.75". The old record stood at 60'2".
Danielson also broke the Indoor school record twice this year. He first broke the old record of 58'9" set by Eric Whitsitt in 2005 with a throw of 59'3.5" in the ISU Dual Series #2. Danielson then went on to break his own record four straight times in the Big Sky Indoor Championships. Danielson's four consecutive distances of 59' 4", 59' 5", 59' 11", and 60' 5.75" all broke his previous record of 59'3.5.
