Sacramento State sweeps women's tennis

Pocatello, ID-- ISU women's tennis was defeated by Sacramento State 7-0 Saturday afternoon. The Bengals' season record falls to 2-7 with a Big Sky record of 0-4. Sacramento State improves its season record to 15-6 with a Big Sky record of 7-0.
The Bengals lost three of the three doubles matches to put them behind 1-0 early in the match. Valerie Espinosa and Katherine Zigars earned the first doubles game but fell to Katrina Zheltova and Luba Shifris 8-1 at the number one singles spot. Lisel Lewis and Sophie Dang also earned a game but were defeated by Cecilia Helland and Karina Jarlkaganova 8-1 at the number three spot.
Idaho State then lost six of the six singles contests to take the 7-0 loss. Freshman Lewis played tough but was defeated by Katrina Zheltova 6-2, 6-0 at the number one singles spot. Freshman Dang fell to Luba Shifris 6-2, 6-0 at the number three singles spot. Senior Zigars was the last off the court after she was overcome by Joyce Martinez 6-1, 6-1 at the number four singles spot.
