Smith signs national letter of intent for ISU golf

Idaho State head golf coach Dave Molitor announced Wednesday that Kylie Ann Smith had signed a National Letter of Intent to play golf for Idaho State starting the 2006-07 academic year.
Smith is from Omaha, Nebraska where she attended Marian High School, the same high school Idaho State's Andrea Lightfoot attended. Smith brings with her an impressive resume' as she is currently the 3rd ranked jr. golfer in the state of Nebraska by the Nebraska Golf Association. (NGA) Smith helped her team to back-to-back state titles in 2005 and 2006. She was named Co-MVP on the 2006 state championship team in 2006.
Smith is a four-year Varsity golfer and a two-year Varsity Basketball letter winner at Marian High School. She was selected to the Nebraska Jr. Cup Team in 2004, 2005, and 2006 and was a medalist at the 2005 Kearney Invitational. Smith received All-State honors in Class "A" in 2006.
Smith has also succeeded in the classroom as she belongs to multiple national honor societies. Smith is a member of the National Honor Society, National Junior Honor Society, MuAlpha Theta (Math National Honor Society), and the Spanish National Honor Society. She also received First Honors.
ISU head coach Dave Molitor said, "Kylie is the perfect example of the type of player we want at Idaho State. She's a wonderful combination of multi-sport competitiveness with outstanding excellence in the classroom. She is a goal-oriented person with the work ethic it takes to achieve them."
Smith will continue her education at Idaho State while participating on the ISU golf team. Smith plans to obtain her degree in Civil Engineering.
