In Focus: Excited about bikes

It would likely take the average person about 4 hours to get from Logan, UT to Jackson Hole, WY. Then why did it take Adam Boyce 10 hours to get from Logan to Jackson back in September? No, it wasn't that his car broke down. It was because he was biking, and I don't mean he was out for a stroll on his Harley.

Traveling Angler: Silver Creek

The pictures likely speak much for themselves, but I want to also say to you that Silver Creek, one of Idaho's most pristine and written about waters, truly is beautiful. Not only is the water crystal clear, but the scenery around the Creek is enough to paint a picture of (and many have painted pictures of Silver Creek).

Cabela's and Idaho, a dynamic outdoor duo

Last year outdoorsmen from across the state flocked to Boise to experience the first Cabela's Retail Store in Idaho. I, for one, made it to the facility where I was greeted by a large staff of employees, but most importantly to me, a ton of outdoor gear. In addition to gear, guns, and clothing, Cabela's is widely known to have an awesome collection of professionally mounted animals as well as giant aquariums displaying fish from the region and around the world.

An outdoor farewell

As each of us makes preparations for semester finals, there are a few things that outdoor enthusiasts should be doing. Number one, most of us should be preparing for finals. I understand that many of you are making plans for summer outings and spending sleepless nights thinking of the massive trout you will be catching or the giant mountains you will be exploring, but focus.

A sport of a different color

Here at ISU, we have a variety of sports in which students may compete. Trained athletes compete in football, basketball, volleyball, and soccer while every day students can compete in intramurals like bowling, rugby, and Frisbee-golf. But there is one sport that I compete in that is not offered at ISU, or any other school that I know of: competitive bass fishing.
