Cabela's and Idaho, a dynamic outdoor duo

Issue date: 4/25/07 Section: Outdoor
Last year outdoorsmen from across the state flocked to Boise to experience the first Cabela's Retail Store in Idaho. I, for one, made it to the facility where I was greeted by a large staff of employees, but most importantly to me, a ton of outdoor gear. In addition to gear, guns, and clothing, Cabela's is widely known to have an awesome collection of professionally mounted animals as well as giant aquariums displaying fish from the region and around the world.
Let me tell you, Cabela's in Boise is no exception. I imagine that people go to Cabela's for the pure experience as much as they do to buy things. For those of you who have seen the aquariums at fish feeding time, you will definitely understand what I mean by saying that Cabela's is an experience as much as it is a store! If you are in the area, don't miss your chance to stop as the store is located only a couple of minutes from the freeway. If you won't be in the area and you love the outdoors, I would get together with some friends and make a trip out of it. If you have never seen a Cabela's store, you will be amazed! Cabela's is in the process of getting ready to open their second store in Idaho in Post Falls. You can learn a lot about Cabela's from their website, www.cabelas.com, but for the full experience, you need to get to one of their retail locations.
I am planning a trip to Cabela's this weekend and would be happy to take a few people along with me. If you might be interested in going and getting some free Cabela's gear, shoot me an e-mail at sharwill@isu.edu and we can talk over the details.
