IDAHO FALLS, Idaho -The Art Museum of Eastern Idaho will hold two of its annual benefit events next week.
The River of Color benefit and auction will be on Thursday, September 6 at 7 p.m. The Museum, which changed its name from the Eagle Rock Art Museum to the Art Museum of Eastern Idaho last month, will unveil their new logo the night of the event.
A live art auction will cap off an evening of hors d' oeuvres and wine by Rutabaga's, and music by Mike Bank's Jazz Quartet. The live auction includes original art by regional artists Larry Blackwood, Dava Dahlgran, PJ Culver, Deanne Hally, Ginger Kramer, Beverly Macaulay, Roy Reynolds, Ila Thompson, Marina Zavalova and Cuban artist Jose Fors. The silent auction will feature art from Southeastern Idaho's finest artists and services and gift baskets from local businesses. Tickets are $45 and may be purchased at the Museum at 300 South Capital Avenue or by calling 208-524-7777.
The Museum's second event of the week will be its annual benefit golf tournament at the Pinecrest Golf Course on Saturday, September 8. The tournament is set up in scramble format with no handicap necessary, and individuals may pick their own four-person team or be assigned a team. The $35 entry fee (plus green fees) includes lunch at the Art Museum following the tournament. Golfers must sign up at the Pinecrest Golf Course by Thursday, September 6.
"This week is a celebration of art through events that enable us to keep our doors open to the public free of charge and give art lovers of all ages the opportunity to be exposed to activities and exhibits regardless of their ability to pay," said Museum Executive Director, Christine Hatch.
