I like men also

After deciding that Larry Craig was guilty, I researched his public voting record on Humans Rights issues. Were you aware that our senator has a 0% rating on human rights issues? Twice he voted against same sex marriage (1996, 2006) twice he voted against having sexual orientation added to the definitions of hate crimes (2000, 2002) and once he voted against prohibiting discrimination based on sexual orientation (1996).
The definition of hypocrisy is Larry Craig soliciting an act in a public restroom that he will not legalized in Idaho households.
The case can surely be made that Larry Craig voted exactly as his constituency would have him vote. Idaho is a conservative republican state, and each time he voted against an issue that dealt with gay rights, he voted exactly as we told him to vote. In this sense, he is a good senator. He stifled his personal opinion while he was on the job. His job is to be a senator-those of us in Idaho are his boss, and the majority of Idahoans asked him to vote against same sex issues.
Once upon a time I cast a vote that stated that I did not care what a person's sexual orientation was when it came time for a job. I still stand by this tenet. I don't care that Mr Craig likes men; I like them too. I don't care that he is a hypocrite that behaves in a manner inconsistent with his life-style. He votes the way our conservative constituency asks him to.
What I care about is this:
Mr Craig has decided to fight for his good name, and he has $549,000 in campaign money that he can use for this purpose.
Campaign money is generally donated.
This means that our senator will be using donated money to publicly declare, "I don't like men! I mean, um, I do like men… but not like that."
I don't know about you, but I think defending his good name with donated funds is disgusting; even more disgusting than soliciting sex in a public restroom.
