On Sept. 13 a choir sang, a band trumpeted fan fare, four dancers swayed and several actors depicted scenes from upcoming ISU productions, all in honor of their new university president-Arthur C. Vailas, PhD. The evening was the Inaugural Gala Performance full of every type of entertainment ISU has to offer.

Terrific Tailgate III Dear Editor, The terrific tailgate III party was great and the University should do it more often. The only problem was that no announcement of who the winners are took place during the football game as advertised by the judges. The announcement for each category has yet to be announced to the public either via the newspaper or email, even a phone call.
Last year Todd Welch, then current employee of the Idaho State University's Program Board, had no clue that his job would lead him in to a highly succefful local band nine months later. It could be considered fate the Welch needed an opening act for Magician Nate Staniford; or maybe just luck that Welch knew Jeremiah Baker from and ISU class, lead vocalist and piano player; local ISU student in the music department.
The smell of popcorn has a way of finding people wherever they're at. The buttery delight snares students passing by the Bengal Movie Theater on the weekends and provides them a haven from the seriousness of the school week. Employees of the Bengal Theater aren't suffering from the usual boring grind of a nine to five job, but instead are having as much fun as their customers who show up to get lost in movies.
The College Market played host to two amazing poets Bethany Schultz and Charlie Potts Wednesday night. Schultz, a creative writing professor at ISU, kicked off the evening with a series of beautifully written imaginative forays into the magic behind everyday life showcasing her immense talent.
Ruckus, the newest free and legal "University sponsored online Music Service" offers almost three million songs for downloading. Over 100 colleges nationwide already use Ruckus and in response to students demand for the legal music downloading, it has been available to ISU students, faculty and staff since the beginning of this semester.
Each year the best bands fight for the right to be considered the top band at ISU. The battlefield-Guitars Unplugged. The object-win over the audience. Single Track is about two and a half weeks old, but already the members have their sights set on winning the competition.
