ISU Rugby team plays well, splits dual with Air Force

The ISU men's rugby team showed excitement on Saturday with the chance to play against one of the best rugby teams in the nation. The Bengal's rugby team was able to finish seventh in the nation in 2005 and was hoping to score a victory Saturday over the U.

Bengals drop Big Sky opener 3-0 at Portland State

Portland, OR--Emily Waldron and Jessica Gurney led Idaho State with seven kills each but Idaho State dropped its Big Sky Conference season opener at Portland State 3-0 (25-30, 17-30, 20-30) Thursday night at the Stott Center in Portland, Oregon. With the loss, Idaho State falls to 3-8 on the season, 0-1 in league play.

Bengals Fall 3-1 at Eastern Washington

Cheney, WA--Despite taking an early 1-0 lead in the match, Eastern Washington came back to take three straight, defeating the Bengals 3-1 (30-26, 25-30, 22-30, 26-30) Saturday at Reese Court. Jessica Gurney led Idaho State with 12 kills and Christine Van Orden registered a double-double with 29 assists and 14 digs.

Bengals Take Eighth Place in the Montana State Invitational

Bozeman, MT--Idaho State women's cross country team took 8th place with a team score of 245 in the 3-mile race at the Montana State Invitational Saturday morning. The ISU men's team took 7th place with a team score of 171 in the 5-mile run. Gemma Maini led the Bengal squad and finished in the top ten.

Idaho State Drops 3-2 Overtime Decision at Utah

Salt Lake City, UT--In what would end up being eerily similar to last year's NCAA College Cup first round game between the two teams, Utah scored a game-tying goal with just 1:50 remaining in regulation and then put in another score in the first overtime to come-from-behind and defeat Idaho State 3-2 Friday night at Ute Field.

Intramural Sports, more than just competition

Just a t-shirt? Hardly. The first time many participants of intramural athletics heard that the prize for winning a championship wasn't a shiny trophy, free tuition, or a year's worth of textbooks, they were quite surprised. When asked about the main reason why people compete in intramurals, Director Shelby Williams emphatically stated: "It is all about winning the coveted t-shirt".

ISU Football falls short on the road to Oregon State

Although Corvallis, Oregon is not too far from Pocatello, Idaho, the Bengal football team had a tough time staying close with the Beavers from Oregon State as they handed ISU their first loss of the season with a score of OSU 61 and ISU 10. ISU went into Reser Stadium in Corvallis Saturday with a number of things working against them, not the least of which was a bigger, faster team from the Pac-10.

Idaho State looks to stay undefeated at home

Idaho State returns home this week to host the Idaho State Classic Friday and Sunday at Davis Field. The Bengals will face San Jose State on Friday at 4 p.m. before taking on Air Force on Sunday at 2 p.m. The Bengals head into this week's games with a 2-3-1 overall record after dropping a pair of overtime losses at Utah and Utah State.

Utah State sneaks past ISU 1-0 in Overtime

Logan, UT--Utah State's Dana Peart put a ball in the back of the net in the 98th minute to help the Aggies sneak past ISU 1-0 in overtime Sunday afternoon at the Chuck and Gloria Bell Soccer Field. The loss is the second-straight for ISU, which falls to 2-3-1, while Utah State improves to 3-4-0.
