Idaho State looks to stay undefeated at home

Idaho State returns home this week to host the Idaho State Classic Friday and Sunday at Davis Field. The Bengals will face San Jose State on Friday at 4 p.m. before taking on Air Force on Sunday at 2 p.m.
The Bengals head into this week's games with a 2-3-1 overall record after dropping a pair of overtime losses at Utah and Utah State. The team fell 3-2 at Utah before falling 1-0 at Utah State last week. Idaho State has 10 goals this season with eight different players finding the back of the net. Sophomore forward Jana Boehler leads the team with six points with two goals and two assists, followed by senior forward Michelle Okumura who has five points with two goals and one assist. Senior forward Natalie Graham leads the team with 17 shots and seven shots on goal. In goal, senior keeper Maren Eves leads the Bengal defense with 41 saves with one shutout. Eves holds a 1.25 goals allowed average through six games. As a team, ISU is averaging 1.56 goals per game.
Idaho State has registered 10 goals through six games this year. Eight different Bengals have found the back of the net this season. Jana Boehler and Michelle Okumura lead the team with two goals each, while Natalie Graham, Lauren Hough, Crosby Joyner, Jenny Ford, Chelsea Cox, and Kalie McGuire each have one.
Three of Idaho State's six games this season have been decided in overtime. After playing seven overtime games in 2006, Idaho State seems to be back on track to match or break that mark this season. ISU is 0-2-1 this season in overtime games after going 2-4-0 in extra period games last season. The Bengals are 13-12-16 all-time in overtime matches.
Idaho State's roster features just four seniors. The rest of the roster is comprised of seven juniors, three sophomores, and seven freshmen. The underclassmen are responsible for four goals, six assists, and 14 points this season. Sophomore Jana Boehler leads the team with two goals and is the co-leader with sophomore Annamarie Hofstetter with two assists.
