• On Thursday, Sept. 27, Pi Sigma Alpha will be hosting an informal, open forum debate entitled "Larry Craig's Misdemeanor: How his sex scandal will affect Idaho's present and future." It will be held in Suite A of the Rendezvous Complex at 12:15 p.m. The forum is open to all interested in voicing their opinion, or listening to student and faculty commentary on the issue. Refreshments will be provided.
• On Thurs., Sept. 27, Dr. Peter Boag, Professor of History at University of Colorado, Boulder, will deliver the Idaho Yesterdays Lecture, open to the public, free of charge. The lecture will start at 7:30 p.m. and be held in theSlamon River Suite of the SUB. Focusing on the family camping movement, Boag will speak about "Family, Gender, and Conservation: How Outdoor Recreation Undermined and Reinforced the Post-War Concensus."
• The 2007-2008 ISU United Way Community Giving Campaign will run from October 1-12, 2007. To kick-off this year's event, the Second Annual United Way Awareness Day will be held on Fri., Sept. 28, on the ISU Quad from 11:30 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. Hotdogs and chips will be available for $2. We invite the University community to take advantage of all the information and resources available. As an added incentive, anyone purchasing lunch out on the Quad that day will automatically be placed in a raffle drawing to be held that afternoon for raffle items donated by ISU Parking, Chartwell's, the ISU Bookstore, Athletics, and the Performing Arts Center, among others.
• The ISU chapter of Phi Kappa Phi, a national honor society, has announced a one-semester resident fee scholarship for the 2008 spring semester. The scholarship is given in recognition of Rosemary Myers, the former chapter president and long time mentor to Phi Kappa Phi. Selection will be coordinated through the ISU Phi Kappa Phi chapter. Applications will be accepted through Oct. 26, 2007. For eligibility requirements and applications, please contact Dr. Leigh Celluci at cellemil@isu.edu or Dr. Joanne Tokle at tokljoan@isu.edu.
• Pebble Creek is offering season passes to ISU students only for the reduced price of $243 from Sept. 24-28. Passes can be purchased at the ISU Outdoor Adventure Center on the first floor of the SUB. A valid Bengal ID card is required. Call 282-3912 for more information.
