Boise, ID-- Idaho State men's and women's cross country teams competed in the Bob Firman Invitational Saturday Morning at Eagle Island State Park. Saheed Kahn finished in 5th place out of 114 runners in the 5k run.
The ISU men took 3rd place in the meet with a score of 97. Senior, Saheed Kahn led the Bengals with time of 25:35.16 for a 5th place finish. Also running for the Bengals was John Ricardi who took 12th place with a time of 25:53.77 in the 5k race. Branden Teeter took 22nd place with a time of 26:12.92. Landen Teeter finished in 27th place with a time of 26:19.74. With a time of 26:45.86 Taylor Hansen took 42nd place in the 5k race. Freshman, Ryan Davis finished in 44th place with a time of 26:47.88. Tysun Rickards finished with at time of 26:51.07 taking 46th place.
The ISU women's team finished in 9th place at the meet with 220 points. Sophomore, Gemma Maini took 7th place out of 124 runners in the 5k race with a time of 18:33.65. Freshman, Erica Wendt finished in 33rd place with a time of 19:45.36. Kerynn Davis finished with a time of 20:28.59 taking 58th place. Haiden Siepert finished in 65th place with a time of 20:37.52. Chelsea McEwen finished with a time of 21:24.91 taking 87th place. Holly Hansen finished in 95th place with a time of 21:46.96. The final scorer for the Bengals was freshman Candida Butler who took 97th place with a time of 21:51.59.
Chico State took 1st place for the men with a score of 30. Patrick Boivin of Chico State finished in 1st place with a time of 25:17.14. Boise State took 1st place for the women with 50 points. Jessica Pixler of Seattle Pacific took 1st place for the women with a time of 18:00.44.
The Bengals next meet is at home in the Idaho State Dual Oct. 6 at the centennial course.
