Transform your yard and save money with water efficient landscaping! Find out how at two free community workshops. On Tuesday October 16th, join the Latah County Master Gardeners for 'Low Input Landscaping on the Palouse, The Basics'. In this two-hour workshop learn about the seven principles of xeriscapingä, design basics, site selection and soil preparation, plant selection and water conscious irrigation. This workshop will be packed with information and resources to help you get started on your own water wise landscape.
On Tuesday October 23rd Paul Warnick, Horticulturist for the University of Idaho Arboretum will present a two-hour lecture 'Lessons From the University of Idaho Xeriscapeä Demonstration Garden'. Paul will provide practical advice and examples from the Demonstration Garden and the University of Idaho Arboretum. This workshop will focus on plant selection, plant combinations that work well, and practical advice for designing, installing and maintaining your own water efficient landscape. Bring your questions for two evenings with the experts.
These workshops are sponsored by The Latah County Library District, The Latah County Master Gardeners and The Palouse-Clearwater Environmental Institute and are free to the public. Light refreshments will be provided.
