Aaron Klovas is a red-shirt junior offensive lineman for the Idaho State University football team. We had a chance to catch up with him this last week, here's what he had to say:
Bengal: Let's start at the beginning, where are you from?
Klovas: Graham, Washington. Its 40 minutes south of Seattle. It has roughly 40,000 people, and its growing.
Bengal: What is the biggest difference between Graham and Pocatello?
Klovas: Definitely the scenery. It's a lot greener there. Also, Mount Ranier is right in the backyard there. It makes the mountains here seem … well, they don't compare. Also, it gets a lot colder here, and a lot hotter, and it a lot drier. I guess it is just more extreme here.
Bengal: Compare ISU to the University of Oregon.
Klovas: It's a smaller school, smaller community. You get to meet a lot more people here. You really get to know your supporters. Pocatello is a real small, tight knit community.
Bengal: What is your favorite color?
Klovas: Metallic Black.
Bengal: Did you know any of your teammates before you transferred?
Klovas: I was in the same recruiting class as Ryan Phipps at Oregon. He transferred here the semester before I did. He was part of the reason I came here.
Bengal: Do you play any sports other than football?
Klovas: I played baseball from first grade through high school. I actually played it a lot longer than I played football. I started football as a freshman.
Bengal: What positions did you play?
Klovas: I pitched and played first.
Bengal: Any scholarship offers in baseball?
Klovas: There were some smaller schools in the area that were interested in me, but I'm a pretty big guy. It was pretty clear that football should be my first choice.
Bengal: What were your best pitches?
Klovas: When I was in 8th grade I went to a camp were former MLB pitcher Tom House taught me how to throw a slider. It was a pretty successful pitch for me.
Bengal: How fast was the heat?
