Cook and Coneff's agenda this year is to bring QSA to the attention of students and the community as a whole. They want to make people aware that there is a place they can go to socialize and enjoy the company of those who share similar lifestyles.
"I discovered the organization to be a good place to go for people with alternative lifestyles. I found friends here" said a sophomore member who has considered herself to be bi-sexual since high school.
"QSA is equally recognized by ASISU as a viable organization just as any other student organization on campus and they know we're doing our job" said Coneff.
Outside of the socialization aspect QSA provides, they hope to educate people about "queer issues", halt discrimination and harassment and encourage those who are still in the closet to step out knowing that there is an organization of support, friendship and guidance available when they are ready to make that step.
"I want students to have a place where they can come to support each other, work politically and get more visibility" said Seikel.
QSA meetings are held Tuesdays at 5 p.m. in the Pond Student Union Building Clearwater room. The club blog can be accessed at http://isuqsa.wordpress.com.
