Ø College Majors and Graduate School Fair
The seventh annual College Majors and Graduate School Fair will be held on Oct. 31 from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. in the ISU Pond Student Union Ballroom. The fair will provide information on a variety of undergraduate and graduate degree programs offered at ISU, and is designed to assist students in making informed decisions about their college majors and their future careers.
Faculty from ISU academic departments and the College of Technology will be on hand to meet with students and answer questions. Also, representatives from the ISU Admissions Office and the ISU Career Center will be available to provide general information. Ø Gender and Paganism lecture to be given by ISU Prof.
McCoyClaudia McCoy, assistant director of the ISU Women's Studies Program, will deliver a presentation titled "Celebrating the Goddess and Her Consort: How Paganism Embraces Partnership, Duality and Reverence For All Things," on Oct. 31 at noon in the Clearwater Room of the ISU Pond Student Union Building.
McCoy's lecture is part of the sixth annual Every Other Thursday Brown Bag Lecture Series: Gender and Religion, hosted by the Janet C. Anderson Gender Resource Center, and is the only talk in the series scheduled for Wednesday.
Since this presentation is scheduled on Halloween, McCoy encourages attendees to come in costume.
Ø Celebration planned for ISU professor's book release
The ISU Department of English and Philosophy invites the community to celebrate the book launch of "The American Protest Essay and National Belonging: Addressing Division" by Brian Norman, Ph.D., assistant professor in the department.
The reception, which is free and open to the public, will be held at the Piccolo Gallery, 501 North Main Street, from 5:30 to 7:30 p.m., Mon., Nov. 5. Copies of the publication will be available at the reception.
