Warming causing health problems

The solution, according to Epstein, also involves the utilization of alternative energy sources, though he feels the health effects of such alternatives need to be studied before fully instituting them.

Epstein cited the examples of ethanol and nuclear energy. Ethanol, he said, produces o-zone when burned, and also takes an immense amount of energy to produce.

"You're actually putting more energy in than your getting out of it," Epstein said.

Nuclear energy, on the other hand, raises the problem of the "three S's: storage, safety, and security."

Epstein said it was crucial to look at the entire life cycle effect at the same time that we consider suing such alternative sources of energy.

As for those few hold outs that still contend that global warming isn't happening, or isn't caused by man, Epstein had only one thing to say: "If you had a panel of professional physicians telling you that you had cancer, are you gonna listen to the guy in the corner saying 'don't worry be happy'?"
