Pocatello - Senior Idaho State University student Jeff Wolfley designed the winning logo in a competition sponsored by the Idaho Academy of Science. The mass communication major is generously donating his $200 prize money to the ISU chapter of the American Advertising Federation.
Men and women alike came together with pool cues in hand to find where their billiards skills fit in the local pool scene. Several of the matches provided some of the competitors with equivalent opposition. Many, however, met their demise when faced with one particular participant who managed to make it through the tournament without losing a single match.

Pocatello - The Idaho State University Association of Indian Students will host Indian Night on Nov. 10 from 6 to 9:30 p.m. in the ISU Pond Student Union Ballroom. The theme of this year's event is "India Rising" and will feature authentic Indian food, a fashion show, traditional and modern dance and a slide presentation highlighting Indian history and culture.

Laguna Beach guitarist and folk singer Mark Turnbull and Dallas musician Mark Austin will perform a benefit concert in Pocatello on Saturday, November 17 at 7:30 pm at ISU's Goronson Hall in the Fine Arts Building. Mark Turnbull's acclaim spans decades, from his Grammy nomination as a 17 year old for "A Happy Birthday Party with Winnie the Pooh," to Billboard magazine listing Mark along with Randy Newman and Bob Dylan as some of the finest songwriters of their time, to his critical acclaim where the Los Angeles Times called his "One Man Show" the best solo performance of the year.
Growing up in the swamplands of northern Florida, down home roots, rock and soul artist JJ Grey became a realist early on. "You fall in love with a pig," he says, "and then one day your granddad knocks it in the head and bleeds it for butchering. You tend to grow up with a certain amount of realism in your life.
A 5-year-old Superman named Mathew was very excited to show off his cape to ISU students, "I'm going trick or treating with my class," he said. Many ISU college students didn't dress up for Wednesday's Halloween holiday, however loads of ISU's early learning students did.
Greek gods and goddesses descended from Mount Olympus, the Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles crawled out of the sewer, and video game heroes Mario, Luigi and Link jumped out of the virtual world and into a reality to ride the mechanical bull, climb up walls, and "get jiggy with it" on the dance floor.
