eart and determination for the women's volleyball team as they battled two conference foes in Northern Colorado, and Northern Arizona to finish their homestand for the season. The team, however lost their last two home games at Reed Gym and are now eliminated from the Big Sky Tournament.

Thursday night ISU lost to Northern Colorado in just three games, (24-30, 29-31, 28-30). The game improved the Bears record just enough to keep them in the running for the tournament by slipping them to a record of 7-7 in conference play and 9-18 overall.

Freshman Charlee Kinghorn picked up her eighth double-double of the season. She led the Bengals with 10 kills and contributed 13 digs. Emily Waldron nearly tied Kinghorn with 9 kills and 13 digs. Kolay Mickelsen was effective hitting .412 by smacking 9 kills in 17 total attacks. She also rose up for a career high of 4 blocks.

Northern Colorado was led by Allison Raguse who had 15 kills in 21 total attacks with an outstanding .667 hitting percentage. Abby Mayne led the team on defense with 23 digs.

All eyes were watching Katie Edgson, who will possibly be the tenth Bengal to ever reach the 1,000 career dig mark. She needed just 12 digs against Northern Arizona on Saturday night to reach the mark. She ended the game just one short of the mark with 11 digs for the game and 999 career digs. She needs just one more dig in the next two games to reach the mark and put her name in the history books.

Enjoying a healthy career with the Bengals, she has played in over 100 matches and 300 games. Last season she took an offensive role and snatched 165 kills on 574 total attacks. Edgson also recorded 228 total digs, and received the honor of being named to the Big Sky's All-Academic team.

Saturday night the Bengals battled the Lumberjacks but came up short losing, 3-1 (31-29, 26-30, 23-30, 18-30). ISU came out strong and won the first game with a good performance from Britta Bartschi and Blakely Peppinger. The two teamed together and Peppinger assisted all seven of Bartschi's kills in the first game. Peppinger tied teammate Christine Van Orden with 23 assists in the game. Bartschi and Emily Waldron led the team in kills with 12 each. Charlee Kinghorn had 12 digs and Ashlyn Mcdowell matched her career high with 7 blocks.

There were three big performances for NAU. Kim Babcock smashed 32 kills and had 13 digs. Brittany Stoweras tallied 28 digs and Kelly Verboom provided 59 assists.

The Bengals will now prepare to battle Montana and Montana State on their home courts as their last games of the season on Nov. 16 and 17.

The stories of this season may have been somewhat dismal as they are coming to a close, but as ISU opens a new chapter in the history books next season, no one will be surprised to see the exciting play and success that will come from it.
