Brickman to Perform

Pianist, singer and songwriter Jim Brickman - whose songs include the chart-topping "Valentine," "The Gift," "Love of My Life" and "Simple Things" - will perform a concert at ISU on Wednesday, Feb. 13. Brickman's concert is part of the ISU 2007-08 "A Season of Note" series and will be held at 7:30 p.m. in the Joseph C. and Cheryl H. Jensen Grand Concert Hall of the L.E. and Thelma E. Stephens Performing Arts Center. For more information on Brickman, visit his Web site www.jimbrickman.com. Tickets are $36 main level, $32 upper level, and can be purchased at the Stephens Performing Arts Center Box Office, from 10 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. weekdays. Tickets can also be purchased over the phone at (208) 282-3595 or online at www.isu.edu/stephens. Patrons can purchase tickets on event nights beginning at 6 p.m.



Feb. 4 Read-In

The Anderson Gender Resource Center at ISU is partnering with the Diversity Resource Center to host a Read-In of women writers in celebration of Black History Month on Monday, Feb. 4, at noon in the Bengal Café in the ISU Pond Student Union Building. Readers will share their favorite selections from works of non-fiction, fiction or poetry, written by professional African American or African women writers. Anyone interested in reading a selection is invited to participate, and should call the Anderson Center at 282-2805 by Jan. 28 to reserve a timeslot. The following information will be required: author's name, title of her work, approximately how long the reading will be, and the participants name and email. Pocatello Running Club

The Pocatello Running Club will be meeting every Saturday morning at 8 a.m. at the 5th Street Bagelry to do their weekly runs. All ability and interest levels are encouraged to join with the club in enjoying the activity and its benefits. Runs will range from fives miles to over 20 miles during marathon seasons, however, these distances are not required. The pace will be set by the individual participants, and depending on attendance each run, the group may be split into faster and slower groups. The club requires no other meetings and no club dues to join. Just meet at the 5th Street Bagelry at 8 a.m. on Saturday's, or contact Nicole Prause at runpoky@mm.isu.edu for more information.
