ISUSSA will act as a forum for people who enjoy shooting to post information about gun shows and other events. Another option for the club discussed at the meeting was the possibility of bringing in experts to teach members about safety, reloading and how to perfect their shot. I have always wanted to learn how to reload my own shells so I can build up my reserves for the impending zombie apocalypse.
"The club is open to everybody. We have people who make their own weapons, forensics specialists, police officers, military personnel, faculty members, students and some people who just want to learn how to shoot a gun. Out of the members, there are diverse interests, including trap shooters, hunters and competitive guys. This will allow the club to go in many different directions. You may just want to meet up and shoot varmints." President of ISUSSA Todd Itami said during the second meeting on Friday Jan. 25.
You do not need a gun to join, but you will need to acquire your own ammunition. If you are worried that this ISU club might be a little dangerous, Itami reinforces that "safety is our number one concern."
On the website for the club at http://www.isussa.com, one of the purposes of the club is emphasized: "to promote firearm safety and proper use of firearms."
If you do not know what a "clay bird" is and want to find out if it is a worthy kill to slap on the holiday table, or if you thought the second amendment of the constitution granted you the right to wear a short sleeved shirt, you may want to attend a few of the many upcoming events the ISUSSA has in store.
