Donnie Carson's small appearance on the basketball court is extremely deceiving because Carson arguably has the best vertical in the Big Sky Conference. Carson recently had strong performances against Montana, where his last minute shot won the game for the Bengals, and against Montana State. His recent performance against Sacramento State, where he scored a career-high for the fifth time this year, has shown that Carson is an emerging star for the Idaho State Bengals.

Bengal: Where did you grow up?
Carson: I grew up in Detroit, Michigan.
Bengal: How long have you played basketball?
Carson: It's been about 15 years. I started playing backyard ball with my cousins when I was little. I was the youngest so I had to be tough.
Bengal: Why did you choose basketball at ISU?
Carson: I wanted to come somewhere that I would make an immediate impact on the game. I could get playing time if I came here. The coach came and saw me at school in Michigan and wanted me to play. I guess we had a special bond.

Bengal: What is the favorite thing about your team?
Carson: We're all so close. We all came in at the same time and it's a brotherhood. There is no choice but to be close. We practically all live together.
Bengal: What was one of your finest memories at a game?
Carson: It was when we played Montana. I hit the game winner when I put back an offensive rebound.
Bengal: What do you specifically hope to contribute to the team this year?
Carson: I hope to keep giving scoring power and keep putting the ball in the basket. I want to keep moving forward and not backward.
Bengal: What do you expect from fans at home games?
Carson: I expect them to show up and support us. It's a lot easier to lay some smack down when they make some noise.
Bengal: How do you get pumped up for each game?
Carson: I got this Youtube video I watch before ever game. It's my favorite ball player, Steve Francis, who used to play for the Rockets.
Bengal: What is the goal for the team this season?
Carson: We want ten victories in conference play. It'd be great to host the Big Sky tournament.
