ISU has never lost to Sacramento State, extending our streak to 23 games last Saturday to rebound from the loss to Northern Arizona. Natalie Doma and Andrea Lightfoot had huge efforts, scoring a combined 61 points between them en route to ISU's 5th Big Sky victory, keeping them within striking distance of Montana and Portland State who lead the league.

The Bengals came out of the starting gate shooting hot and spreading it around, with Doma and Lightfoot along with Michelle Grohs, Jenna Brown, Bianca Cheever, Devin Diehl and Andrea Videbeck all scoring in an opening stretch that had Idaho State up 37-24 with about 7 minutes to go in the half.

Then, in a smart substitution during a media timeout, Sacramento State would spark on the hot hand by Emily Christensen who entered to score 10 points leading the Hornets back to within 5 points at the half 47-42.

The second half began with a six minute back and forth offensively that probably had both coaches pleased on the scoring, but shaking their heads regarding their defense.. Sacramento State went 7 of 8 from the field including four 3 pointers, while Idaho State shot 8 of 11 with 5 baskets for Doma and 3 from Lightfoot.

The Hornets then went cold as the Bengals continued to find the net and Idaho State broke the game open to go up 76-62 with seven minutes left. Sacramento State could get no closer than 11 points the rest of the way as the Bengals went on to win 90-73.

The effort may have been the Bengals most consistent offensive effort this year as the team shot 62 percent from the field the first half and 55 percent the second half with 8 different players scoring on the night. Natalie Doma scored a season high 34 points with 9 rebounds, while Andrea Lightfoot scored a season high 27 points with 8 rebounds, and 5 assists. Michelle Grohs dropped in 8 points, with 4 rebounds, 4 assists, and 2 steals. Jenna Brown also added 8 points, while Bianca Cheever scored 5 of her own. Andrea Videbeck scored 4 points with 3 rebounds, Devin Diehl only had 2 points offensively, but had 3 assists and 3 steals, while Oana Iacovita rounded out the scoring with 2 points, 2 rebounds, and 1 assist in just 5 minutes of playing time.

The Bengals moved to 5-2 in the Big Sky and 13-6 overall. Next week they face Weber State in Ogden on Friday night at 7 pm in their lone game of the week. Tune in to KISU 91.1 FM to listen to the game or jump in your car and make the 2 hour drive down to Ogden and root the team on.
