The Farrelly Brothers, best known for their big screen hits like "There's Something about Mary" and "Shallow Hal," are now bringing their scandalous brand of humor to the small screen. "Unhitched" is a new sitcom premiering Sunday, March 2 on FOX at 9:30 p.m. ET/PT.
Dating can be a wonderful experience filled with joy and promise for your future, but it can also be the most horrific ordeal leaving us scarred for life. "Unhitched" explores the world of dating after being divorced. This sexually charged comedy shows that starting over again in the dating world can be near impossible, but fun to watch from afar.
In "Unhitched," four recently single friends (Craig Bierko, Rashida Jones, Shaun Majumder and Johnny Sneed) watch as their companions embark upon the comically hazardous waters of dating in your 30's. From dating an escort that takes advantage of a lonely doctor, attempting to form a relationship with a shorter man who turns out to be a national team's mascot, to dating a beautiful woman who has a slight imperfection, "Unhitched" will leave you dying of laughter with situations you might, unfortunately, be able to relate to.
"The Farrelly's have a very specific mode of comedy which they are incredibly good at and it is big, broad, over the top sometimes gross you out comedy," explained Rashida Jones who plays "Kate" in this new comedy. "This show feels very much like a little half hour Farrelly Brothers movie every week. They have never done television before, and it is the perfect introduction of them to the small screen."
Probably one of the most amazing parts of this new sitcom is that it is very easy to relate to. Regardless of your previous dating experience, this great comedy has something that virtually everyone can relate to.
"Whether you are married, divorced or never have been married, this is about guys who find themselves in a position that you never dreamt of being in. People don't grow up expecting to be divorced, but it happens very commonly," said Peter Farrelly. "It is relatable on many levels, it is sort of like a second puberty. Suddenly it is a rebirth, these guys are starting over at a point in their lives when they are kind of like fish out of water. And I think that it is relatable across the board. It is just a fun thing that has never really been tackled on television in a comedic way."
If you have ever had an extremely bad date or had a friend who has told you about a humiliating experience on a date, then tune in to "Unhitched" on March 2 and begin laughing at other people's misfortunate in the dating world.
