Theatre ISU to present 'Sleuth' Feb. 29, March 1, 6, 7, 8
Theatre/Dance ISU will present "Sleuth" by Anthony Shaffer at the L.E. and Thelma E. Stephens Performing Arts Center's James E. and Beverly Rogers Black Box Theatre at 7:30 p.m. Feb. 29 and March 1, 6, 7 and 8.
Written by Anthony Shaffer, Sleuth takes you on a ride of emotions. Anywhere from humor and laughter to terror and fear and loaded with explosive pyrotechnics, Sleuth will surely knock your socks off and leave you wanting more.
Seating is limited and tickets are available now at the Performing Arts Center box office, or by phone at 282-3595. You can also order online at www.isu.edu/tickets. Ticket prices are $12 for adults; $10 for seniors; $7 for Children ages 6-12; and ISU students are $5 with their Bengal card.
Congressman Simpson at ISU Feb. 29
Congressman Mike Simpson (R-ID) will be meeting with his Second District constituents at ISU Friday, Feb. 29, from 4 to 5 p.m. The meeting will be informal with most of the time given to a question and answer period, and will be held in the Snake River Room of the Pond Student Union Building.
Psychology Department Annual Research Forum Feb. 29
The ISU Psychology Department Research Forum will be held on Friday, Feb. 29. The Research Forum is open to all university students, faculty and staff, as well as the general public. Admission is free. Oral presentations will take place in the Planetarium of the Rendezvous Complex (Room 203) from 1-2:30 p.m. Poster presentations will take place in the Rendezvous Suite (Room 130) from 2:30-4 p.m. These presentations will cover a variety of topics that may be of interest to members of the university and the Pocatello community. Examples of topics include self-harm among incarcerated women; siblings interaction and conflict resolution skills in young children; children's theory of mind; risk-taking behavior in college students; and effects of prenatal food restriction on impulsivity and obesity.
ISU Choirs to host Hillcrest Women's Choir on Feb. 29
The ISU Women's Choir and Chamber Choir will join the Women's Choir from Hillcrest High School for a choral concert on Friday, Feb. 29, at 7:30 p.m. in the Joseph C. and Cheryl H. Jensen Grand Concert Hall at the L.E. and Thelma E. Stephens Performing Arts Center.
General admission is $5, $3 for ISU faculty and staff, and free to ISU students with ID.
Founder and director Kathleen A. Lane will lead the Women's Choir, with accompaniment by Carol Hotrum.
Dr. Scott Anderson will lead the ISU Chamber Choir in works to be featured on their upcoming concert tour to Peru, May 20-31.
The evening's guest ensemble will be the Advanced Women's Choir of Hillcrest High School, Idaho Falls, under the baton of Camille Blackburn. Accompanists will be Cellist Mark Anderson and pianist Candace Cramer.
