Tired of Lohan? Me too

Recently, Lindsay Lohan decided to reveal her freckle speckled body and make a very sad attempt to recreate Marilyn Monroe's 1962 photo shoot by Bert Stern, called the "The Last Sitting." If you decide to check out the pictures be warned there is a small amount of nudity. On the New York Magazine Web site (http://media.nymag.com/fashion/08/lindsay-as-marilyn/,) you can view the photos in the set published in the Feb. 18 edition. An interesting fact about the shoot mentioned on the Web site is that "Six weeks after she had posed, Monroe was found dead of an apparent barbiturate overdose."
After comparing the pictures I would still choose to see Marilyn Monroe recreate her own photo shoot today, at the ripe age of eighty-two instead of Lohan at this low point in her career at twenty-two. I think it's pretty sad in the first place that an actress is portraying another actress posing for the exact same photos. What will Lohan do next? Pose for the Mona Lisa? Or maybe she could play herself in a fictional movie about the life and trials of not being Lindsay Lohan called "Lohan on Lohan." I guess the main difference between Monroe and Lohan is that Monroe was sexy because of what you didn't see. You see Lohan too much in the supermarket tabloids or on the internet, among other celebrities, flashing their crotches as they exit cars. In two of the photos where Lohan is posed on some white bed sheets you can see the tattoo on her butt. The tattoo is the words "La Bella Vita" which means "The Beautiful Life," the name of one of the songs she sings.
Bert Stern returns as the photographer in Lohan's series of photos, which helped keep the shots consistent. To credit Stern the photos are very accurate recreations, but Lohan pops up like that strange person in your wedding photos who decided to make a goofy face during the group picture. It just doesn't capture the mood the same. The intimacy of the Monroe photographs is nonexistent with Lohan. I think it might have even been more impressive to see all of the photos reproduced with no model in them to really show that celebrities today lack the ability to mirror the past.
Lohan is simply not as sexy. So my next question is Why Lohan? I wish. When will it not be Lohan, or Brittney
Spears, or Paris Hilton? When are we going to return to the days of women like Monroe, Greta Garbo, and Ava Gardner? The short answer is "never." Today's celebrities are immature, out of control girls, not women, and sadly that is what the kids want. The best example of that is this article you are reading right now which is about the very thing I'm tired of: another article about Lindsay Lohan.
