ISU Japanese Night set April 19
ISU's Japanese Club is hosting Japanese Night from 5:30 to 8:30 p.m. Saturday, April 19, in the ISU Pond Student Union Ballroom.
This event will be the club's fourth annual celebration of the Cherry Blossom Festival. All students, family and friends are invited to experience eight authentic Japanese dishes prepared by members of ISU's Japanese faculty and ISU Japanese Club members. Dinner will be served at about 6 p.m. and entertainment will start at 7 p.m.
Tickets will be available April 14 to 18 from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. in the ISU Pond Student Union lobby. Tickets purchased in advance are $10 for adults. Tickets purchased at the door will also be $10. Students with their Bengal Card will receive a $2 discount. Children under 5 are free if they don't need a meal, or $5 with a meal.

Bengal Dancers tryouts April 19
The Idaho State University 2008 USA Large Open Dance National Champion Bengal Dancers will hold 2008-09 squad tryouts from 9 a.m. to 6 p.m. Saturday, April 19, in Reed Gym. The Bengal Dancer squad size is 14 dancers. Each dancer chosen will receive a $1,500 scholarship.
The squad performs at all ISU football and at men's and women's basketball home games. They also compete in various national competitions throughout the year.
The team is coached by Hilary Hofmaier and is assisted by Lindsay Tucker. For a tryout brochure, contact Hilary at 282-4547 or hofmhila@isu.edu.
LOTR Trilogy continues in
Bengal Theater April 20
The third installment of the winner of the Idaho Progressive Student Alliance's "Best Trilogy" contest, The Lord of the Rings, will be shown Sunday, April 20, at 6:30 p.m. in the Bengal Theater. Tickets will be $2 and will include a free small drink and popcorn.
Opportunity to meet with Terry Tempest Williams April 23
The Idaho Museum of Natural History is offering 40 students the opportunity to visit virtually one-on-one with internationally acclaimed nature writer and lecturer Terry Tempest Williams on Wednesday, April 23 from 10 - 11:30 a.m. Participation is free and refreshments will be served. Registration is first come, first served and those interested must register no later than April 18 at 5 p.m. Please call either Kristin Fletcher at 282-2262 or Linda Burke at 282-4201 for information or to register. Applications are currently being accepted for 2008-2009 ASISU student government positions including: chief of staff; elections board chair and four members; government relations board (one lobbyist in Boise and two members); Senate fiscal officer; Student Voice coordinator; Idaho Falls Student Activities Board members; Idaho Falls Student Involvement coordinator. Those interested should go to the ASISU office in the Pond Student Union Building, room 251, or call 282-3435 for more information.
