The ASISU Senate refused to approve a Contingency Fund request of $5,000 to aid the Bengal Newspaper in its continued operation in what appeared to many as a politically and personally motivated vote during their meeting Monday night. This comes following a $4,921 approval to fund the Bengal Dancer's purchase of championship rings, and a $5,000 request by the Danson dance program to fund travel expenses to New York, which was approved immediately after.
Jon Newlee, the winningest coach in Idaho State University women's basketball history, has announced that he is leaving the Bengal program to take the head coaching position at the University of Idaho. He will take over for Mike Divilbiss, who resigned from his position on March 28 with two years left on his contract and a seven-year record with the Vandals of 82-119.
The last issue of the Bengal for this school session is upon us, and it has been a remarkable year for me. I can't speak for my staff, but I am assured that we have all learned volumes. It is my hope, as Editor in Chief, that I will leave the newspaper in a better condition than I found it.

A total of 1,670 graduates will receive 1,765 degrees and certificates during ISU's spring commencement ceremonies, which will begin at 10 a.m., May 10, in Holt Arena. Eighty-nine students will receive multiple certificates and/or degrees. In addition to the presentation of these degrees and certificates, three distinguished faculty members will be acknowledged, nine alumni will be recognized for their professional achievement and 11 outstanding students will be recognized.
Students in Idaho Falls have the opportunity to get two free Royal Theater tickets a month with their Bengal Card at University Place. Royal Theatres include the Paramount Theatre and also the Centre Theatre, which is located in Historic Downtown Idaho Falls.
