The film Young at Heart plays Monday, Sept. 22, and Tuesday, Sept. 23, at 7:00 p.m. in the Bengal Theater. Don't miss this film!!! Don't miss this film!!! Don't miss this film!!! My wife made me go to this when we were traveling this summer and I was pleasantly surprised and moved by this documentary which follows a group of aging senior citizens who travel internationally singing rock classics from bands like Sonic Youth, Jimi Hendrix, Coldplay and James Brown. These senior citizens show that life doesn't end at age 65 and it can actually get better. A key highlight of the film is when they play at a prison and the reaction of the prisoners. When a few of the Young at Heart choir members have some health issues, the story takes a dramatic turn and wraps up with an emotional concert by the group. Did I say don't miss this film? Okay then.
A couple other films playing are In Bruges, which plays Wednesday, Sept. 17 and Thursday, Sept. 18, at 7:00 p.m. in the Bengal Theater. Colin Farrel and Brendan Gleeson (Harry Potter's Mad Eye Moody) star in this offbeat film about two hitmen who must lie low in Bruges after a job gone bad. The lying low, however, quickly turns into a cat and mouse game when the two must fight for their lives. And finally, The Leatherheads plays Friday, Sept. 19, and Saturday, Sept. 20, at 9:15 p.m., starring George Clooney.
That's the wrap for this week. Enjoy the movies.
