Many people do not know that October is Domestic Violence Awareness Month. This is why the Walk a Mile in Her Shoes fundraiser is held the first Wednesday of October on the ISU campus. The event is facilitated by Project Hope, an ISU organization that gives aid and support to students, faculty and staff who have been subjected to sexual violence, assault, harassment or stalking.
Thursday, Oct. 9, ISU will be hosting an emergency response drill. This drill is designed to evaluate the coordination and effectiveness of university, state, county and city agencies that would be involved in a real emergency. The event is sponsored by ISU, the Idaho Bureau of Homeland Security and Bannock County.
On 09/25/08 at approximately 1933 hours at Reed Gym, Public Safety responded to take a report of a personal injury from an ISU student who sprained her ankle. On 09/26/08 at approximately 0323 hours at Garrison Hall, Public Safety took a report of a natural gas smell.

Friday, Oct. 3, the 8th annual Accounting Career Vision 2008 Symposium took place at the Stephens Performing Arts Center. This was an event in which accounting students were able to speak with professionals in their field as well as mingle with their fellow accounting majors.
